Driveway Concepts offers hot crack and patching services. These services keep the water out and potholes from forming. Crack sealing protects your pavement by not allowing water to enter the crack there by eroding and destabilizing the base underneath the asphalt. Unsealed cracks will eventually cause additional cracking and ultimately potholes.
We clean cracks with high power blowers and wire brooms. All rocks, dirt, and debris must be removed from cracks before introduction of rubber crack filler. Routing of the cracks is also available.
We follow the cleaning process by inserting Denver foam or backer rod into the crack.
The cracks are then filled with direct fire hot flexible rubber crack filler.
Then we apply Black Beauty sand as bond breaker for immediate traffic use.
Driveway Concepts offers different forms of patching that will meet your needs and your budget. We can cut out
patches to be replaced with hot asphalt. We can do all sizes of patching large or small.
Cut outs – The area to be removed is marked out with a straight chalk line, then it is cut with an asphalt saw.
All existing asphalt is removed for recycling.
The patches are prepared by re-grading, compacting and tacking all vertical edges. Then ID2 top is applied and a roller or plate tamper is used depending on the size get complete compaction of asphalt.
Cut outs are the most thorough repair, and the most successful.
Skim patching involves thoroughly cleaning the areas with high power blowers and brooms.
We then use tack coat to outline and fill marked areas.
A roller is used to get complete compaction of asphalt.
Skim patching is the cheapest patching to do but it is obviously not as thorough.
